Lyrebird Ridge Organic Winery B&B, Kangaroo Valley, NSW, Australia

We always prefer to stay in Bed and Breakfast instead of hotel during our trips as we find the accommodation to be more cozy and we get to experience the local lifestyle. It took us 2.5 hours of driving from Canberra ACT before we reached our B&B called Lyrebird Ridge Organic Winery Retreat located within the picturesque Kangaroo Valley.

Lyrebird Ridge Organic Winery Retreat is a great B&B run by a friendly Aussie couple who made us right at home staying at their place. The estate has an organic winery that produces very good Port wine. Also located in the B&B are a number of animals, including a flock of sheep, some chickens, 2 very friendly dogs… and even if you are lucky, you may even get to meet the resident wombats who leave in the valley a stone throw away from the units!

I miss the hammock… what a great way to spend a lazy afternoon while the kid get to run around.

The setting is very beautiful, with a French country feel. We had our 5th wedding anniversary celebration here. How lucky we were … :)

The room were clean and cosy with a big box of toys for the kids to play and a wood fireplace for that extra country feel.

Organic eggs, toast, cereals and beverages are provided for breakfast. Great way to start your morning.

Don’t miss the scones and jams when you’re there. These are home baked fresh from the kitchen of the B&B owner, Annie. I’m glad that I found out the recipes on making clotted cream and jams from Annie!

Activities for the little ones include getting them to feed the chicken with auntie Annie every morning.

What a unforgettable 5th year wedding anniversary in Lyrebird Ridge…
